The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is actively investigating the alleged rape and murder of a female doctor in Kolkata, as well as the corruption charges against Dr. Sandip Ghosh, the former principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. During a polygraph test, Sanjay Roy, the main suspect, claimed he was innocent and stated that the victim was already deceased when he arrived at the scene. Roy, along with seven others, including Dr. Ghosh, have undergone polygraph tests as part of the ongoing investigation.
In addition to the tests, the CBI has conducted raids at the homes of Dr. Ghosh and other officials from the medical college to investigate potential financial misconduct linked to Ghosh.
Despite a Supreme Court appeal urging them to return to work, resident doctors at the hospital have decided to continue their strike in protest.
